Pen-Aqueous should be administered by the intramuscular route. Before withdrawing the solution from the bottle, disinfect the rubber cap on the bottle with a suitable disinfectant such as 70 percent alcohol. The injection site should be similarly cleaned with the disinfectant. Needles of 16 to 18 gauge and 1 to 1½ inches long are adequate for intramuscular injection.
DOSAGE: 1 ml IM per 100 lbs body weight. A 48 hour milk discard. Do not administer within 10 days of slaughter. Available in 100, 250, and 500 ml.
Each mL contains 300,000 units of procaine penicillin G and approximately: 0.08% sodium citrate dihydrate; 10.15% sodium carboxymethylcellulose; 25% sorbitol solution U.S.P; 0.06% povidone; 0.6%lecithin; 0.1% methylparaben; 0.01% propylparaben; 0.25% phenol.
